They’re both used to temporary. Have they unexpectedly found forever?

Lark Lachlan has her life under control. Although she enjoys the occasional summer fling with women, the devoted-to-her-career, bisexual zookeeper has no trouble keeping her heart in its cage. So she’s a little surprised to feel an instant, all-consuming attraction to the handsome new volunteer, Logan.

The last thing Logan Anderson needs is another failed romance. Looking for a final adventure before heading home to take over the family business, the outgoing New Zealander is intrigued by the hottie . . . with her hand down a monkey sewage pipe. But he runs up against her no-sleeping-with-volunteers rule, even when she drunkenly locks lips with him in a red-hot kiss.

Lark is tempted to let passion run free with the fun-seeking Kiwi, but animal antics and a dwindling timeline threaten to keep them strictly platonic…

Will Lark and Logan let nature take its naughty course?

What is She’s A Keeper by Ali K Mulford about?

She’s A Keeper is the first book in the Pickles Zoo series by Ali K Mulford. It is a romantic comedy filled with animals.

Lark Lachlan, a devoted bisexual zookeeper, and Logan Anderson, an outgoing New Zealander seeking adventure, are both accustomed to temporary relationships. However, an unexpected, all-consuming attraction arises between them. Despite Lark’s no-sleeping-with-volunteers rule, sparked by a drunken kiss, the duo faces challenges from animal antics and a limited timeline. The question lingers: Will Lark and Logan allow nature to take its course and transform their connection from temporary to forever?

My thoughts on She’s A Keeper by Ali K Mulford

“She’s a Keeper” is the inaugural novel in the adult romance with comedy series, Prickle Island Zoo, centered around a charmingly quirky family managing a zoo in Connecticut. The story unfolds as we follow zookeeper Lark and the seasonal Kiwi volunteer, Logan. Despite the zoo’s no-sleeping-with-volunteers rule, Lark battles against an undeniable connection and a consuming desire for Logan. Meanwhile, Logan, fresh from a recent breakup, seeks a final adventure before taking over the family business. A kiss sparks the beginning of their journey, accompanied by animal antics, an exotic forest trip, and a ticking clock, adding tension and banter. The question remains: will they allow nature to take its course or stick to the status quo?

The book is described as utterly adorable and fun. Lark, with high expectations and a passion for her job, discovers more to life beyond duty to family, while Logan, a sweetheart and a cinnamon roll, becomes a soothing presence in Lark’s chaotic world. Their evolving dynamic is marked by Logan’s endearing adoration for Lark, even amidst messy situations. The Lachlan family, with their teasing, tormenting, and supportive nature, adds depth and realism, creating a sense of a genuine family with all its ups and downs. The series promises standalone couples in the same world, providing readers with a real and engaging family experience.
