While searching for stolen dragon eggs, newly engaged couple Kianthe and Reyna
find themselves smack-dab in the middle of a swashbuckling love story.
On one side is Serina, a failed farmer turned river pirate. Her booty? Wheat, grains,
and the occasional jar of imported tea leaves. It’s quite the embarrassment to Diarn
Arlon, the powerful lord of the Nacean River, and he’ll conscript anyone to bring her to
justice. Especially Kianthe, the elemental mage who just crashed his party, and her
somewhat-scary fiancée.
Begrudgingly, the couple joins forces with Bobbie, one of Arlon’s constables–who
happens to be Serina’s childhood friend. Bobbie is determined to capture the pirate
before anyone else, but it would be a lot easier if Serina didn’t absolutely loathe her
now.
As Kianthe and Reyna watch this relation-shipwreck from afar, it quickly becomes
apparent that these disaster lesbians need all the help they can get. Luckily,
matchmaking is Reyna’s favorite past time. The dragon eggs may have to wait.

A Pirate’s Life for Tea is the second book in the Tomes & Tea series that is being republished by a traditional publisher. You are currently able to purchase the kindle book.
Newly engaged couple Kianthe and Reyna become unintentionally entangled in a swashbuckling love story while searching for stolen dragon eggs. On one side is Serina, a failed farmer turned river pirate, targeted by the powerful lord Diarn Arlon. Kianthe, an elemental mage, and her fiancée reluctantly join forces with constable Bobbie, Serina’s childhood friend. The situation becomes more complicated as Serina despises Bobbie, and Kianthe and Reyna, observing the chaos, decide to play matchmakers amidst the adventure. The pursuit of stolen dragon eggs takes a backseat to the unfolding romantic drama.
My thoughts on A Pirate’s Life for Tea?
I just adore Thorne’s writing and diving back into Kianthe and Reyna’s adventures with both old and new characters.
The humour and puns in the book were fun and it was a great follow-up to Can’t Spell Treason without Tea. The new characters were unique and intriguing and I absolutely loved all the pirates.
I can’t wait for book 3! Definitely a book that you will want to read again with you’re in the mood for a cozy fantasy.
