Two weeks have passed since Iris returned home bruised and heartbroken from the front, but the war is far from over.
Roman is missing, lost behind enemy lines, with no memory of his past, or Iris. Hoping his memories return, he begins to write again – but this time for the enemy.
When a strange letter arrives through his wardrobe door, he strikes up a correspondence with a penpal who seems at once mysterious… and strangely familiar.
As their connection deepens, the two of them will risk their very hearts and futures to change the tides of the war.
What is Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross?
Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross is the conclusion to the Letters of Enchantment duology.
Picking up the events two weeks after the ending of Divine Rivals, Iris is uncertain about what happened to Roman and the knowledge that gods are awake and roaming as well as the cause of the war is a lot of information to process. Will Iris see Roman again and where is he?
My thoughts on Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross
What an epic conclusion to the Letters of Enchantment duology. After the ending of Divine Rivals I jumped right back in to find out what happened to Roman.
This book is filled with rediscovering love in a land torn by war and the perils of love. Iris and Roman are definitely towards the top of my favourite bookish couples after the duology. I adore their banter and how invested in each other they are. I’m so glad they have a happy ending!
I could not put the book down and had to know the ending from the very first page. There are so many scenes in this book that are tender and heart-warming that I will be reading it again. This definitely lives up to the claim of an epic conclusion to Divine Rivals.
Ross has written the perfect ending and has written her characters with care and forethought. If you are looking for a historical fantasy to read, definitely read this duology, you won’t be disappointed.
