I truely enjoyed reading about what events shaped Celaena into the assassin that she is.

I read Assassin’s Blade after Heir of Fire but I really think it fits in well after Queen of Shadows. Even though it is set before Throne of Glass, you are introduced to some characters who play an important role in the next three books.

Reading this book you definitely see a drastic difference to Calaena, but I loved her kind soul and her arrogant exterior.

We meet Sam, Arobynn, Ansel and Yrene, and how Calaena/Aelin impacts their lives and how they impacted hers.

Definitely recommend to give more depth to Calaena. 5/5 stars.
